Help! I'm Lost!
Meeting for Beanstorms in coffee shops can lead to leaving behind an item or two. I've lost a few pens, a book, some Post-It notes and a ball cap this way. I've been fortunate not to have misplaced a portable USB drive -- yet! -- but it's bound to happen sooner or later.
Fortunately, I've just read a couple blog entries on one way a person might encourage the return of said item -- a simple request to the finder in the form of a pre-programmed message that is saved to the thumb drive.
The basic concept revolves around the fact that most people will do something if you simply ask them. The pre-programmed pop-up message will invite those so inclined to return your USB drive per the instructions provided. One user has even offered a reward by way of exchanging the returned drive for a brand new blank drive as their ways of saying "thanks."
Great idea, excellent attempt at a one-to-one interaction with the person who happens to run across your lost information.
Follow the link below for a clever idea on how you might get your wandering USB thumb-drive returned to you.

Piece of mind is valuable.
Reminds me of a similar, but low-tech, idea of mine (you can read about it at www.SparkBugg.com).
BTW...Don, it is nice to meet a fellow ideator. I love you brainblog!
